I get roof of mouth canker sores every Spring - around April or May. Have one now very painful. Is it allergy related?

I have had this same problem every fall and spring. Its very painful. My Dr. And dentist don't understand it. I do have allergies and sensitivities to foods. But don't seem to understand why it gets so bad that it turns into a infection and my ears, head, throat and gums, teeth hurt. Wish I knew what it was and how to treat it best. I take supplements, use proper higiene at each meal, and exercise daily. I road horses this weekend and it flared up the following day, I also had acid foods same day. Please help me understand how to treat this. With ibuprofen and sinus medicine?

I get them every spring, it is the most annoying thing in the world, I have one right now that hurts pretty bad, I'm going to try rubbing baking soda on it, it was weird, I think it is allergies because my eyes used to get horribly itchy in the spring, and I never got cold sores in my life, well about 3 years ago my eyes stopped getting itchy and I got cold sores instead...great.

I get hem all year and my birthday is December aswell. Probably because you hate winter. And of course your exams. Iím only in High School so my exams arnít that stressful so it could be that aswell. You should try haking lysine. It helps to clear them up. But if they are painfull then Corsodyl numbs them.

I get ulcers every December, I get them on my lips and jaws, I hate the jaw ones....... I think its because of stress. I get exams every December and I get stressed. I didnt figure this out until my Patner told me about stress and mouth ulcers, I had a gap in my studies from last two years and I dont recall having ulcers those years.

But they really hurt bad. Last exam this Friday I hope they will go after that. Wish be luck!!!!!

Does anyone else get depressed with change in season?? Also I hate winter and get quite depressed when season changes. Cause might be stress and depression. But also I had a very stressful year but the breakout is in Decemeber.

PS: My birthday is also in Decemeber. Maybe its that. LOL ; )

I also have noticed that I get them worst in the spring and fall. This is very interesting. My family dont get them. My husband or kids. (lucky people). The out brakes seem to come out in a vengence at those time of year for me. I just found some liquid lysline. And have been using it to clean the area. It seems to be helping the healing time faster. It hurts really bad. But then it then tingles and then goes numb. Good luck to all.(sorry for the bad spelling)

I always get my ulcers in the Spring and the Fall. I had one on the tip of my tongue until recently, and as soon as it healed I got one near the back of my throat. Iíve been getting them for as long as I can remember, and itís driving me crazy!

Me too . . . ulcers in the fall and spring (terrible right now) when the weather changes. Here in NC, we have had a few cold days, a few hot days, and a few days of rain intermixed, and all of a sudden I have an outbreak. I have kept track of it over the past years, and they never fail to show up this time of year (and the spring) when the weather is indecisive.

Yes, I even know the exact months. They are September, February and May. There are other times inbetween, but not as major an outbreak as these months. Right now having a small outbreak. I keep them under control by taking multi-vitamins, COQ10, B-vitamin complex, L-lysine, garlic (for immune upkeep), vitamin C, and peroxide mouthwash. The mouthwash has helped the most. Use once a day when not broken out. Use if 3 or more times a day when broken out. Will heal ulcers in a few days.

My ulcers come every year for the past 4 years in October and November, but then disappear!! I hate it! The only relief I have is chewing on Advil.

I donít know but I have it more in the summer months than winter, unless I am stupid enough to bite my lip and when I get the canker sores,I have yeast in my mouth as well,itís nasty and depressing

Hi Lee..I am thinking this is related to allergy time also....got sinus problems in fall and also Spring and it seems canker sores outbreak at that time also.....Anyone else have the same experience??? I would be interested to know.....Lucille.....p.s. my mouth is on fire right now...only ice cold water feels good..tried to drink diet coke and it burned like hell.......
Lucille 21 October 04
Sure! I always get a bad outbreak of cold sores almost every Sept/Oct and May. I have allergies and they have been in full force this for the last two months, and so have my ulcers. Right now my mouth tastes like s*#t! Yuk! haha!
Lee 21 October 04
am just thinking...perhaps this is an allergy??? Doní know...but I do remember I had a pretty bad outbreak last year at this time also.....Does anyone get these Canker Sores when the seasons change. I have a whole bunch in my mouth right now...canít even eat....Perhaps with all the information we get from each other we can come up with something...there has to be some kind of link to all this....Doctors and Dentists donít know a thing..and think it is not a big deal...no one else thinks so also...that is UNLESS you have it yourself....then WE KNOW itís a BIG deal!!!!I had someone tell me recently there are things much worse in the world...and I know that is true....but what Iwould like to know is WHY do we get these buggers...I HATE CANKER SORES!!!!!!
