Please read: The underlying cause of cankers and their treatments.

Please read this very carefully. In this thread I am going to go over all underlying causes of canker sores I have discovered through experimenting and the most effective treatments I have found for them.
A bit about myself: I am 26 and I have suffered from canker sores for a very long time. I am not exaggerating when I say I have not a single day in the last 20 years where I have not had a canker sore in my mouth. Usually 5 cankers at any given time.
That is until I have found the treatments that work for me.
First, I will explain what I believe is the cause of our canker sores. Note, I believe any one of these can cause cankers, I also believe a combination of these can cause cankers.
1) The first and ultimate cause is Bacteria in our mouth that infects minor cuts and bruises that everybody gets throughout our daily life. Whether from eating something with a rough texture (ie. Potato chips) or our teeth accidentally puncturing our gum or a hundred other causes of us getting a minor cut, the result is an otherwise harmless wound that gets infected by our mouth bacteria and it turns into a canker sore. So, if we could get rid of the bacteria in our mouth, I believe we would never get a canker sore. Unfortunately, I believe some bacteria is actually good for you so going nuclear against your mouth bacteria is not the best idea. It could be possible that people who frequently suffer canker sores have different strains of mouth bacteria than Ďnormalí people.
2) The second big cause is leaky gut. If you eat certain foods, they can enter your blood stream where they are recognized by your body as a foreign substance and attacked. These food particles are in the blood in every part of your body. When they are attacked, it causes minor trauma/would that is quickly healedÖ except in your mouth where we go back to the point about bacteria. Now this minor trauma/wound in your mouth is infected with the bacteria and becomes a canker sore. Most foods nowadays are also covered in pesticides and herbicides which probably trigger an immune reaction in your body as well.
3) Thirdly, I believe that people like us who suffer frequently with canker sores have a thinner mucous membrane layer than normal people. This would explain why other Ďnormalí people might have the same bacteria in their mouths and might even have leaky gut but donít get recurring cankers. Their mucous membrane layer is thick enough that the minor cut either never appears or is too shallow to do any real damage. The cause of the thinner layer could be poor genetics (which is why canker sores often run in a family) or it could be inadequate nutrition in the pregnant mother and/or in childhood.

Now on to the treatments:
1) Of course, the main thing is to kill the bacteria in your mouth. For me, the most effective thing has been hydrogen peroxide. I dilute it down to 1% and swish it in my mouth for 30 seconds once per week. You must dilute it down, because 3% gives me burns. You also probably shouldnít do it too often because, again, it can cause burns.
2) I eat a carnivore meat diet. Because literally everything else seems to go through my leaky gut and cause me symptoms. Meat is the only thing pretty much that doesnít give me leaky gut reactions. Red meat is especially good. If you do this, be careful about it and do your research. I had issues with histamines and low energy until I fixed my electrolytes and worked on lowering my histamines (Topical Vitamin C really helps with this, along with omega-3 from raw salmon)
3) Vitamin K2 MK4 really helps me against cankers for some reason. Unfortunately, after taking a daily 100 mcg supplement for a year my blood got really thick and my blood pressure went up. This made me realize that you canít rely on supplements and you need to eat real foods. Emu oil, and grass-fed egg yolks have decent K2 MK4 levels so I am going to switch over to those. Note, only the MK4 version of K2 helps me, MK7 does nothing. Hereís something to note. Did you know that K2 MK4 in supplements is usually derived from nicotine, and that it has been proven that people who smoke tend to get less canker sores, and that smoking also makes your blood thick? I just thought that was an interesting connection that really needs to be looked into.
4) Keep your mouth clean by daily brushing and flossing. I think this one is self-explanatory.
5) I donít use any toothpaste at all anymore. Pretty much all of them have ingredients that irritate my mouth, even the Ďorganicí ones. Surprisingly, if you donít eat any sugars (like I donít on a carnivore diet), and you floss and scrape your tongue then you really donít need to use toothpaste to brush for a fresh mouth.
