Persistent mouth ulcers

Hi I have suffered with persistent mouth ulcers / blisters for 12 months
. It was so severe and couldnít get any help from GP or local hospital that was effective. I was extremely stressed and worried that no one could help and the hospital said Iíd have to wait 6 weeks to see a consultant but not to worry as they didnít think I had cancer 🙄 I was unable to speak or eat so I decided to research as I couldnít wait 6 weeks . In the end I discovered the royal Liverpool university hospital had a specialist Oral Medicine department so I went there as soon as I could . They took my issue very seriously and dealt we me immediately they took biopsies and gave me predisnalone tablets while I awaited results. The steroids worked and my diagnosis was erythema multiforme . They prescribed specialist medicine which really helps as in my case the problem is persistent and could continue for a long time or forever. This medicine is made at the hospital and is only available at a hospital with an oral medicine department so I travel fortnightly to collect a fresh batch. Reason for sharing this information is if you have a chronic ulcer problem itís better to see the specialists I didnít need a referral and they provide amazing treatment support and research. Even though they Iím still suffering and there may not be a cure for me I am reassured regularly by the hospital that Iím ok and all tests necessary are done . It gives peace of mind which I hope may help me heal as Iím going illinggto try anything and have given up work just to reduce stress to see if that helps . If I ever find the cause I will share again but the search continues and Iím seeing a rheumatologist in feb fingers crossed they discover somethingís
