Appendix and Canker Sore relationship?

Hey everyone, about 2 months ago I got hit with 4 canker sores at once after never having more than one at a time my entire life. A month later I was rushed to the ER and had to have my appendix taken out....there has GOT to be a connection!

I suddenly 3 months ago had an outbreak of a multitude of mouth ulcers. So bad I couldn't eat or talk. They even went down my throat. Since then I have had minor ones every week since. Now I have had another outbreak.

Seeing this thread I was wondering because I keep getting a dull pain to the right of my belly button, it feels like someone is pushing their finger in. It comes and it goes and I was wondering about my appendix.

From the end of Dec 2016 until April 15th of 2017, I continuously had canker sores/mouth ulcers until my appendix went bad and burst. I was in the hospital for 7 days. The sores disappeared and have not returned. I had gone to the family doctor, an ENT doctor, and my dermatologist only to find out they felt I had a constant herpes infection going on. Now I get to tell them that it was the only warning that something was about to burst!

I just specifically searched this topic because right now I am nervous I have an appendicitis. I have other symptoms and then I realized I also have a huge canker sore that won't go away. I've had it for a week now and it is the largest one in my life and I'm not kidding, it is about five six combined normal ones and taking up the whole corner of my lower lip. Will let you know if I end up having one ....

I have noticed that I don't have the mouth ulcers since my appendix was removed 6 mths ago. I will 'almost' have one and it clears up! So glad to see other people have wondered this

Yes! I had my appendix out and weeks before had a horrible canker sore that would not go away. The day my appendix came out, it almost immediately cleared up. So weird. I'm wondering the connection, myself.

Hello -
I am a fellow mouth ulcer "victim" and my brother is too. I was reading the discussion board earlier and read about someone who had his appendix out. This led me to think...."I wonder if there is a correlation between those who've had their appendix out and those of us who suffer from chronic cankers/mouth ulcers." My brother and I both have had our appendixes out and have also both suffered from chronic cankers. My brother is doing much better after switching to only using baking soda in place of toothpaste. I have not had his same luck and baking soda kills me. So, today, with 5 tongue ulcers and 1 uvula ulcer, I am putting it out there --- do any of you have ulcers and also a history of appendicitis?
