I have suffered from sore areas on my tongue like little blisters, burning tingling sensation on surface of the tongue and sides of cheeks..Could be due to autoimmune system problem fibromialaga..have tried numerous products with no success...one day exasserperated I asked my doctor I could. Not bear this oral pain any longer on top of my other problems..She prescribed this Kenalog stuff, apply tiny bit only.....I tried it and noticed only after serveral treatments a relief I had not experienced for years..Why did she not prescribe it before.....the most minimal amount should be dabbed or patted on the area...or it will feel thick and yucky...

What is the longest shelf life of Kenalog?

My wife has always suffered terribly from mouth ulcers, and Adcortyl in Orabase was the only treatment that provided relief. When UK production of it ceased some years ago, I started buying Kenalog, 6 tubes at a time, by importing it from New Zealand via the internet. However, it looks like there is now a limit of two tubes per order by the NZ authorities.

Samantha Hartman as far as I'm aware it's not available in U.K. Or Irl, my sister recently purchased it in Indonesia and brought it home. Just started to use it on my daughter who suffers with terribly mouth ulcers and it's amazing

I have used this product with great success, that was years ago. I wondered if it is still by script

Where can I get it from?

Like most everyone else on this site, I have suffered from mouth ulcers for most of my life. I have tried everything from silver nitrate to mouthwashes and rises with little or no success. A prescribed medication (Kenalog in Orabase) has worked astoundingly well for me. Kenalog is a low grade steroid that can be applied up to 3X per day. Ulcers that would linger for 2 weeks are usually gone in 4 to 5 days.

I found out Kenalog and Adcordyl is the same thing - just different brand names.

I have a partial lower denture and get ulcers in the bottom of my mouth under my tongue - ouch! I use Kenalog at night time and have found it good. Also use SM33 during the day for pain. I use Kenalog the same as Bigmax and find it good.

Andrew, The Orabase is best applied at bed time only - when you wont be talking or eating etc. Apply with a cotton bud, dont rub in. Just cover the ulcer. Then hold the gum /lip away from teeth /tongue for a few seconds until it sets. As i said earlier, it is not so suitable for daytime use due to its sticky properties. It is designed to stick to the inside of the mouth and not wash away easily.

I have been getting mouth ulcers for as long as i can remember. I recently was informed by my doctor to try Kenalog. I picked it up from the chemmist thinking this must be a miracle cream that would finally stop the pain of my ulcers. Instead it caused more. I found once applied to the ulcers ( which are usually on my gum between my lip and front teeth) it caused excruciating pain...not because of it being applied, but it kinda sets like a concrete to my ulcers and lip, so when i move my mouth it pulls at the ulcer, and sometimes leaves a course residue that rubs against it...
To this day i still think salty water gargled, and an extra genourous blob of SM33 does the trick.
