10 yr. old with 6 sores in her mouth

I must concur with the anti-sodium lauryl sulphate crowd. Switching to a toothpaste without it (I use Biotene) has been a lifesaver for me. I also have found that I cannot take any pills that have SLS as an ingredient. I was taking One-A-Day vitamins for women and one day bought a store-brand of the same and got mouth sores immediately. The store brand and many generics use SLS as a filler and a binding agent. Check your daughters toothpaste, mouthwash, and any pills for SLS. Good luck!!

As a sufferer of these since youth - one food that helps the pain (very temporarily) is ice cream because the cold is numbing. Might help with a 6-year old.
If they are using toothpaste, make sure it does not contain SLS (sodium Lauryl sulphate). Squiggle is a good one that does not, but you will have to order it online.
Ulcers can be caused by biting part of the gum, so chewing gum which might help this happen is probably not a great idea.

A recent study at Newcastle Dental Hospital showed the Gengigel provided instant pain relief and accelerated healing.I tried it and it works for me.

try the Prevention Mouthwash. In addition, use the Rembrandt gentle care toothpaste. I was a chronic sufferer until discovering these two miracle cures. Some people think miracles donít happen but if you suffered like I did with these mouth ulcers and then you found a cure, you would undrstand.

hi, I have a 10 yr. old daughter and she showed me today she has 6 sores in her mouth. They are not little sores either. We went to the dr. about 3 months ago and he gave her some oral meds, which do not work. Do you have any suggestions for her. I feel for her, she saids they hurt really bad. I am going to be calling the dr. tomorrow again, but I thought someone may have any info that I could use. Thanks so much......
