I read that the Aloin in the Aloe Vera Juice and Gel can cause cancer. Food and Drug Administration issued a final rule banning the use of aloin, the yellow sap of the aloe plant, for use as a laxative ingredient in over-the-counter drug products. Aloin is found in all Aloe Vera drinking juices, or Gel. May be in small amounts but still there. I stopped drinking it immediately and instead I use Gaviscon Advance which contains no aluminum and u can drink it for a long time without side effects.

Can you drink straight Aloe Vera liquid, like from Wal Mart? My friend has a three week old ulcer and is desperate. The dr gave her an antibiotic, but nothing has improved. If you can drink, or gargle, please let me know. Thx!

I'm sure this has been mentioned, but please stop using oral care products with sodium Laurel sulfate (sls) immediately. This is a major cause of canker sores. Stopping these products has gotten rid of my very bad canker sore problem completely. Please check your toothpaste and mouth wash labels right away!

There was an article in a sunday magazine acouple of weeks ago that mentioned pro-biotic yoghurts as being good.. also in the same article mentioned Vit b complex. I have been on both of these and Aloe vera juice ( not a such bad taste, Iíve had worse booze) since Saturday and have noticed an improvement in the pain and size of the ulcer.
Iím now trying to increase my sleep and decrease my stress levels by buggering off on a cheap holiday abroad without the kids.....

Multibionta contains Ēprobiotic nutrientsĒ. First time I used Multibionta was because it was on special offer, after a while I noticed that my ulcers had improved (frequency and severity)... Iím sure those healthy yoghurt things are similar. Worth a try, in my opinion.

Also, I take loads of vitamins and supplement(B, folic acid), Dom, why ,do you think, is Multibionta diffrent?

Last week I was in allot of pain with lots and lots of ulcers, mainly on and underneath my tongue. I read allot of the threads on this forum to see if I could get anything to help. The 3 new things I tried were soluble asprin to help with the localised pain, Vitamin B complex tablets, and also Aloe Vera juice ...
The day after I took the Aloe Vera juice + vit b, I noticed a reduction in pain, and 2 days after there was a definite inprovement So much so that I could eat something without having to constantly sip water for the pain. The Aloe juice I got was from Superdrug and was 5.99 for a large bottle. Itís not very pleasant taking the stuff, but it does seem to have made a bug difference.
So a big thankyou to Emma for the suggestion, much appreciated, and I hope it works for others too.
I do recognise the chance that they might have started to go by themselves, but I have never had so many that were so painful go as quickly as these did ...

Yes - two small medicine cups a day. I thought I felt the start of one last week but that feeling disappeared as quickly as it arrived with not an ulcer in sight. Iím really impressed with it. Anyone that would like my supplierís details, just let me know.

do you drink aloe vera juice neat?
15 February 03
So far so good with the aloe vera. Itís not the juice but the actual aloe gel Iíve been drinking (yuk!). Since starting, it has cleared up the existing ulcer I had and no more to be seen yet. Probably still early stages but Iíll keep you posted....
Jill 14 February 03
Hi Jill, I still havenít tried Aloe Vera juice, do let us know how you get on with it.
Dom Walton 3 February 03
Iím trying the Aloe Vera just now. My parents have started selling all different kinds of aloe vera products. Itís one of the best natural healers for various ailments. Itís nearly 100% pure aloe vera so thereís nothing else in there which should upset anyoneís constitution or affect any medication being taken. It really helps build up your immune system too. Itís not the best tasting stuff in the world but hey, if it works!!

Dom Walton 8 July 02
Did it work for you Dom?
5 July 02
Thanks, Iíll be trying it.
Dom Walton 5 February 02
You can get Aloe Vera Juice from any health food shop, I get mine from Holland and Barratt. I do use it every day, probably about twice a day, it works wonders. It isn;t very expensive and you get alarge bottle which you have to use in a month and keep in the fridge once opened, I hope this helps.
3 February 02
Hi Emma, thanks for the suggestion, where do you get Aloe vera juice ? And do you use it every day ?
Dom Walton 24 January 02
I used to suffer really badly with mouth ulcers, we are talking huge ones on the tongue, well every where really!! I found it painful to eat, talk you name it. I tried aloe vera juice about 6 months ago and I must say that I am practically cured, well apart from the odd one, but all I do is swish the aloe vera juice around in my mouth for a couple of minutes, then swallow it, the relief is almost instant and in the morning the ulcer has reduced dramatically. Well it is working for me, so give it a go, it doesnít sting! Good luck every one.
