Swollen neck glands

hello ive been having this problem for months on end with countless of ulcers all around my mouth and tounge and come to the conclusion, every time I get this It is straight after my periods, I tend to become abit overstressed and angry then the sore throat starts then the ulcers every month without fail. Yesterday I went to see the specialist doctor and he gave me a steroid called prednisolone which has been brill for the time being and all the swelling in the neck has gone so i can concentrate on the ulcers. What I have been using for them is chlorhexidine gluconate which is also a steroid but hey im desparate the thing is about this product you cant take it all the time the doctor didnít say but the dentist did say that it is known to wear away the gums. Another product which I say is brill is Daktarin oral gel it basically takes away the fungus and if it hasnt gone by three days it does say to see the doctor. Next time it flares up though im going to get the doctor to refer me to a speclaist in a hospital so ill let u know then, hope some of these methods help they do for me and I get hundreds of those things in my mouth. Also I smoke so that mustínt help either. Most of these products can be found over the counter. Thanx for takin the time to read this and get well soon Sammie xXx

Wow, thatís me right now. I have sores all over the roof of my mouth on the left side. My skin is even sore from my mouth to my ear, and the gland on that side has raised a bit. I opened a diet Coke last night and took a drink........oh my!! I paid for that...dumb, I know! Iíve been battling these things my whole life, but Iíve never had sore skin and a swallon gland before.

Holly it sounds like you are biting the inside of your mouth when you are sleeping, thatís why your neck muscles, and jaw are sore, not to mention the ulcers from the trauma of biting the soft tissue in your mouth. This was happening with me for years, until the hospital made me a mouth guard to wear at night,i haveínt had any problems since.

i thought i was the only one with the sore throat/swollen neck glands thing. it only hurts on the side the ulcer is on. my jaw bone hurts as well. my theory is that toxins form the ulcers cause the rest of the tissue to get upset. does anyone else have any other ideas?

Yes!! I have been suffering for days. This time it started beacause I bit my lip, but i can never get just one, so I have them on the inside of both my top & bottom lips & another huge one at the back on the side. My neck glands have been huge and sore. ( I once had one on my epiglotal, donít think I spelt that right - but the thingy that hangs down in the middle of your throat, very painful.) I have been using Bonjela, Ibuprofen and Blistex a lip ointment by boyfriend uses for sunburnt lips (Heís a gardener). Nothing was really helping. I even took half a day off work yesterday, I just couldnít concentrate I was in such discomfort. I was also dribbling!! I hope you canít overdose on Bonjela. My boyfriend keeps threatening to take me to the doctor but Iíve told him they will just run their course, in the mean time Iím miserable & sore & he has to kiss me on the cheek! Today I remembered my Mumís mantra Ēgargle salty waterĒ(She thinks it will cure everything, if we all gargle at once it will probably bring about world peace!) But then in desperation, as I am so hungry but am having such trouble eating, I decided to check the web and here I am. I came across another site which recommended Benzydamine hydrochloride. Which reminded me that I have a throat spray, called Difflam, that has this in it, which again my Mum recommended after she had a particularly sore throat. It is an anti-inflammatory spray. It is very good and numbs the area so at least Iíll be able to have some food. But it doesnít last long. For the glands, last night I rubbed tiger balm on them, not sure if it really helped or the heat just distracted me but worth a try, especially as I was watching commedy on TV & even laughing was uncomfortable. If you donít hav eany maybe even try a warm face washer. Gee I feel like Iíve had a good whine, but at least to others who can sympathise :-)

I have the exact same problem, which ever side of the mouth/tongue I have ulcers on, the glands on that side of my neck will get swollen and hurt. Apparently it could be due to the fact that these glans will be attempting to fight/heal the ulcer hence why they get swollen. Iíve got no advice on how to help Iím affraid but I do also suffer from this!!!!

I have a nasty ulcer under my tongue. I also have swollen glands on my neck. They seem to go hand and hand whenever I get my ulcer flare-ups, which is pretty chonic. Anyone else ever had this problem?
