Beer & mouth ulcer connection

Well John, I guess one lager pint beer (not everyday) wouldn't cause much harm on mouth ulcer. I tried this remedy by having a pint...Well I say it wont heal 100% but atleast give you relief from pain...

I find I only get them when I drink. I dont drink often, but when I do drink, I am garunteed to get a few on the sides of my tounge, without fail. Takes about 1-2 days, but they are always their. Im paying for it now after my new years binge. I should give up the drinking.

On that note...I wonder what actually causes it then in my case. Could be the excess sugar? I drink bourbon and coke.

I know what you mean about the connection between alcohol and Ulcers. I dont drink alcohol unless i am on holiday or odd occasion (personal choice). This summer i went to Newquay, England and could feel a few ulcers coming out (you know that tingling sensation) so on the nights out drink copious amounts of Vodka and Redbull nothing became of the tingling but now im back im suffering every month it varies from 3 up to 14 at a time. Maybe i should start drinking again hmm

The only time I get one of the sores is if I eat something containing gluten (wheat, rye, barley and maybe oats) or if I injure a lip or cheek and don’t keep it very clean after, or if I take NSAID pain relievers (aspirin, ibuprofen, etc.).

I realised I was gluten intolerant after investigating why drinking beer gave me mouth ulcers. I haven’t had a beer for about 6 years.

I was about to say. Beer has never ever been a problem with ulcers. In fact, I find that it helps alot. Not only does in numb the pain but I think it helps the healing process. I am not sure if its the vitamin B or the ”good” yeast or hops. not sure.

Hi

I used to suffer from cronic mouth ulcers when I was a kid and young teen. Ive had the odd one or two over the last 10 years but all of a sudden I am getting them really bad.

Whats changed???

I moved to London 6 months ago and have stopped drinking on a weekly basis due to meeting a buddhist girl. Now tell me... could my stoppingdrinking be causing my mouth ulcers?? after all beer is full of B vitamins....
