You can mix ratio of 1:1:1 of benadryl/milk of magnesia/benzocaine swish and spit as needed but do not swallow. It is called Magic Mouthwash and it will ease the pain. Im a pharmacist and I compound that alot for patients except I use lidocaine instead of benzocaine but lidocain is rx only so benzo is the next best thing.

I have been having such bad mouth ulcers. I went to the GP who said he can't help, go to the dentist, who said he can't help, go to the determologist. I finally decided to do SOMETHING. I did much, much internet research. After such severe ulcers that have absolutely paralyzed me I ordered online Silver Nitrate sticks. (people that caution against them obviously don't know about the pain from ulcers that keep you from eating, drinking, swallowing). When I used them a few days ago for a second mouth ulcer, when I touched the ulcer with the Silver Nitrate and literally cried from the pain. It was as if someone was holding a lit match on my tongue. The original place quit hurting so bad but another one or two right around the first one ulcer popped up. Have a Dr. appointment this afternoon and have done my research to see what he can do for me. I also found a mouth treatment from England that really helped. You would bend the top of the Q-tip and medicine would flow to the other end of the Q-tip. It was also very helpful. Just don't give up looking. As painful as the Silver Nitrate was I will do it again if this doctor can not help me today. If someone has never experienced mouth ulcers they just have NO IDEA of the pain that goes with them.

i was reading a previous message about silver nitrate which isnt readily available, but when iwas younger a doctor decided to put some on my ulcers in the throat. It was extremely painful and nothing took the pain away but it did work as it literally burns them off! I dont know if anyone else has tried this before?i also wonder if it is avaliable from a GP anymore

You can normally get a dentist to write you a prescription for silver nitrate sticks...I wouldn’t worry about them being toxicm beside they sting like hell so you won’t leave it in you mouth for too long. I’ve had ulcers my entire life (i’m twenty) but none of my family gets them. My only complaint with silver nitrate is that it usually take up ato a week for the sore to heal. My mother is a dental hygienist so the dentist she worked for tried EVERYTHING for me from prescription, silver nitrate, special mouthwash, expensive toothpaste, they always come back.
I’ve even had him burn the ulcers with the new laser that is used to remove tooth decay when getting a filling. That was probably the best result. Also, I’ve heard that once you have one burned off with the laser, you won’t get another one in that same spot. needless to say I begg him to laser my entire mouth which he declined to do.

There is a new medication out called Debacterol. I got the prescription from my dentist. It works much the same as silver nitrate sticks (cauterizes the area). It is made by Northern Research Laboratories.

For rapid healing, Gengigel gel has been helpful (buy it from Dom’s ”Mouth Ulcer Shop” on top of this webpage).

For prevention of ulcers, if your ulcers are caused by sodium lauryl sulfate/sulphate, switch to Dr Cutler’s Squigle toothpaste, or OralB Rembrandt’s for Canker Sores toothpaste.

The most fundamental and long term method for an ulcer-free life, would be a complete change in one’s diet, to a 100% raw healthy diet (cooked food causes everything from ulcers to cancer). Search ”Aajonus Vonderplanitz” on www.google.com

Silver nitrate is highly toxic. You will not be able to (nor should you try to!) obtain such ”sticks” without a doctor’s prescription (even then, you should never have to resort to using such poisons). I strongly suggest you explore the many other (equally effective, and much less hazardous) approaches towards healing your ulcer condition.
