Ulcers associated with wisdom teeth?

Does anyone else get an association with an incidence of ulcers when your wisdom teeth flare up? I donít know which is worse - to be honest.
Itís only in the last 2 years that I have had such bad mouth ulcers. I donít just get one now - I get about 5 - 10 all over my mouth - my tongue, gums, back of the throat etc..
I feel like I canít eat or drink, and feel dirty.
I have been reduced to tears over the pain and discomfort.
Does anyone else know what I mean?

I completely understand how you feel.
I had one wisdom tooth out two years ago as my mouth was constantly on fire with inch long ulcers around where the tooth rubbed on my gum and cheek......it was the best thing that I ever did. Though I am now finding that another wisdom tooth is aggravating the other side of my mouth and so when I summon up the courage Iím going to get that one whipped out too......
Can you get yours removed?
Hope you get some relief soon

I would never have thought of this, but I think you are both right. All 4 of my wisdom teeth are half out of the gum and have flared up quite bad in the last three weeks. Coincidentally i have had really painful clusters of ulcers on the tip of my tongue on and off for the past three weeks.
I havenít really found much that relieves the pain, however I did try drinking cranberry juice all day today as I was told this helps and my tongue does actually feel bearable now.

Good luck to you all and please let me know if you find that miracle cure for these evils little things.

Emz,
What have you tried for pain relief
I take Vit B complex daily, use SLS free toothpaste and Adcortyl in oralbase when I do get them. If I have pain when eating then I use Anbesol - it numbs the area enough to eat but the pain quickly reappears but I love my food so I NEED to eat or I get MAJOR strops on!

is this a trigger for ulcers? i have never had as bad an attack as i am having now, and i dont know if the wisdom tooth coming through is just a painfull coincedence or the reason, if so, does anyone have a good way of halting them as they are starting to get everywhere

Will I ever be able to eat solid foods again?? I got bronchitis last week and I went to the doctor he gave me an antibiotic, I started taking it then shortly after I noticed that I was getting ulcers on my wisdom teeth, I was told by the dentist that I wonít have to get them out but I guess I thought he might of made a mistake so I scheduled a dentist appt, for next week. The next day I could barely talk its like they multiplied overnight. It seems to get worse when I sleep. I wake up and I have 3 to 4 more. I went back to the doctor and he put me on some steroid and some perscription mouth wash. I hope that this will take care of it. I feel bad for anyone that has to go through this pain, even being sick was alot better then this. I hope that it was just an alergic reaction to the meds. I never had this before, hopefully Iíll never have it again..

So sorry to hear you're going through this :(
I used to get them so much when I was younger (I'm 21 now). With age they have decreased in frequency for me, and that's what I've heard happened for others I know. The most I ever had at one time was in the upper 20's, 26 I think. Absolutely miserable! Orajel was a joke, hardly ever worked longer than 5 minutes. Zilactin B helped a lot; burns like crazy for a few seconds, but then it was all numb for quite a while and I could hurry and eat in peace.
Nowadays though, I'd recommend going to the dentist. The one I go to, they have some type of laser that kills of bacteria or something, reduces the time the ulcer is there by a lot! Absolutely wonderful! I'll look up any natural remedies I had (eased pain, not get rid of ulcer). Braces were a terrible painful time, but I got through it all and so can you!
I will say though that my bottom wisdom teeth are coming in, so far nothing had happened. Imt somewhat hesitant to have then taken out though because I'm afraid ulcers will form where they did surgery at. Anytime I get a tear or cut in my mouth I get an ulcer, so I shudder at imagining what might happen from a surgery!

I have the exact same problem. My final wisdom tooth (thank the lord) is starting to come through. Every time i have a new wisdom tooth cutting through, an ulcer appears right above it on the gum. So when i eat and open and close my mouth the ulcer gets caught. It hurts so bad!! The only thing ive been able to get is bonjela and even that takes ages to dissolve it. I've been in agony all week :( and for the past 2 years as i wait for them to come through! What is the point of wisdom teeth?! they just bring pain!!!!!!!!!!!!

My wisdom is halfway out and have an ulcer , swollen glands and just pain all over . I'm 26 and never experienced a tooth pain, poor my little babies now I know what it feels. What helps me 2 excedrine washing mouth with Listerine for 30 sec will burn but just hold on to it, a magic wash Dr gave to my baby it just numbs everything so I can eat.

Hello friends I can understand your feelings and pain because also I'm going through this from last 3 years. I will explain exactly what happen, first when your wisdom teeths coming out it breaks the scene just above the teeth it pains a lot. Pain will stop after some days but it pains after every one or two months until your all wisdom tooths are come out. While it pains you may notice some things are happen like little bit fever in body, ulcers in mouth, littlbit dots on your upper lip due to fever, pressure on other teeths. This is normal and you have to go through this while your wisdom teeths are in progress to come out.
This might help.

Hello my wisdom teeth are acting up and very painful. I noticed I have a very painful ulcer under my tounge no where near the wisdom tooth and small red painful dots at the back of my tounge. Are these sore related to the wisdom teeth flare up or are they from something else? Please help.
Jrk 20 July 16
It sounds like there is not enough room for your wisdom teeth, the constant rubbing against your gum causes ulcers & inflammation. It's best to speak to your dentist they will organise X-rays to see exactly where the wisdom teeth are growing & determine if they need to be removed. Antibacterial mouth wash may help x

Ive been having mouth ulcers for 11 days now and I really beileve that wisdom teeth are the cause of it. It sucks because its making my teeth ache and when i stretch my cheek away from them, the pain goes away. it also makes me think my bite is off. Getting them out tomarrow hopefully that makes the sores go away.

I get all of these pains and aches this is my 3 one coming in so I know the 4th will be hell. I thought at first it was my tonsils because the swelling in my gums and tonsils, but find out a day later my tooth says hello. So for canker sores I use the little patches Walgreens sells. Helps a lot. For the inside of my mouth and molars I use triple strength orajel constantly throughout the day. Salt gargles and mouth rinses constantly keep the swelling and pain minimal and also ibuprofen or and NSID related antiinflamatory. And as for the tongue... those pesky dead taste buds that appear... this hurts like hell for about one second but afterward no more pain. But I pull the dead taste bud off completely. U will drool and tear up but put a cold compress on it . Not ice u don't wanna shock the nerves. And in about 7 mins no more tongue pain :)

I always find dissolvable multivitamins always help with mouth ulcers. It generally can mean your body is lacking something.

Try applying Alum on your sores. My husband gets them without the teeth issues and it helps really quickly, I found this solution online. Just applied on mine (due to wisdom tooth growing) and hopefully will feel better soon... You get it in the spices section at the grocery stores.

OMG so it is not just me!! I have on oh my uvla. It is gross and it hurts!! It' is more uncomfortable then the extraction! I believe there was more trama to that one side during my wisdom teeth extractions, which may be why I got it. I am glad I know that it is normal after such a procedure. However, I am READY for it to be gone!!
